The revitalisation of Venetia is of great importance to us Slavs, as it not only weakens our Italian enemy, but also gives us a reliable partner on the Apennine Peninsula.
How do you view Venetia in relation to "Padania" and other such concepts?
We agree on the need for Venetia and Central-Eastern Europe to re-establish connections, as we did in the past. We wrote some articles about the concept of a New Amber Road moving forward.
Regarding Padania, It Is a concept that has some basis (mainly genetic, but some think also geopolitical), but culturally, linguistically and from a geopolitical sense, Venetia is a much more coherent historical region and geographical unit whole that has a peculiar predisposition to being included in any Mitteleuropean project.
Also, Padania is a relatively recent concept, again with some merit, but it tends to overlook the pre-existing (and still existing) differences between Venetians and Lombards.
Fantastic article.
